The People Changing God

The people-changing God is the only true God. The problem with every false religion is that they believe in gods that do not change or improve them or their lives spiritually. For the first 43 years of my life I did not know that I needed the only God who could change what I was and who I was. I rejoice that He went to work on me then and is still working on me now.

2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Galatians 6:15: For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

When God makes us into new creatures, He wants us to live our lives differently. Some new creatures live their lives differently and are blessed, but some live their different lives inconsistently in fits and starts. Their blessings only come in inconsistent fits and starts too. He helps us to live our lives differently, but some don*t recognize their need for His continual help, some don*t seem to want it and many don*t seek it or ask for it.

Romans 6:4: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Galatians 2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

If we live our lives according to His will, other men will glorify Him.

Matthew 5:16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

If we continually grieve and quench the Holy Spirit, how will anyone know that He has changed us? How will we know ourselves? When I only serve Him in fits and starts, I only have assurance in fits and starts. The more I serve Him, the more assurance He gives me.

There is plenty of evidence in the Bible that God changes individuals. Moses had trouble speaking but God made him the leader of millions and the human writer of the first five books of the Bible. Simon, the rough fisherman became Peter the powerful preacher. Saul the persecutor became Paul a missionary and the human writer of many of the books in the Bible. Levi the hated tax collector became Matthew, a beloved disciple and the human author of the book of Matthew. There is an abundance of Christians in our time who give testimony about how God has changed them and their lives. If you don*t believe their words, watch their lives. If you have not believed that you needed God to change you and your life and wanted Him to do that, it is doubtful that you are a Christian at all.

Matthew 12:35: A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Notice the world of difference between the good man and the evil man. Only Jesus dwelling in his heart can make enough changes in an evil man so that God can call him a good man. Has God made any changes in you and your life?
